Stewart Moar was born in Orkney, Scotland in 1960. In 1979 he began a long career in the local jewellery manufacturing industry, before starting his own jewellery business in 2000. Stewart focuses on using craftsmanship and traditional skills and methods rather than relying on machinery. Stewart personally designs, crafts, manufactures and finishes each piece by hand. He draws inspiration from the landscape and heritage of Orkney, as well as introducing Scottish, Celtic and Norse influences. Even though Stewart's jewellery and designs are traditional, he explores contemporary and abstract themes. Stewart Moar Jewellery has a great range, with pieces to suit various budgets and tastes. His work includes brooches, necklaces, earrings, pendants, rings and bracelets, although he happily works to commission and will design and make any requests from customers.
